Oksana Mikheieva is head of the Department of Sociology at the Ukrainian Catholic University
(Lviv), doctor of Historical Science (2012), professor of Sociology (2014). She graduated from the Donetsk National University. Title of Candidate dissertation “The crime and the struggle against it in Donbass (1921-1928)”, title of Doctoral dissertation “Establishment and functioning of law enforcement agencies of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) (1921-1928)”. In 2000-2014 taught Sociology (Urban Sociology, Family Studies, Sociology of Deviant Behavior) at the Donetsk State University of Management.
She has led or participated in over 10 local and international Sociological research projects. She is a member of International Association for the Humanities, Taras Shevchenko Scientific Society, Ukrainian Sociological Association; member of the Editorial Board of the academic peer-reviewed journals “Ukraina Moderna”,“East (Skhid)”, journal of the Theological Faculty of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn “The Studies of Warmia.”
